1. Product Overview
UFC911B104 is the core signal processing PCB of ABB medium voltage IGCT fiber gate driver, integrated into full assembly 3BHE037864R0104 as a complete GDU unit. It receives low-power optical PWM firing pulses from the excitation master controller, amplifies to high-current gate signals to drive StakPak IGCT devices, and continuously monitors critical operating parameters of the power semiconductor. 10kV full fiber galvanic isolation completely separates low-voltage control system and 4.5kV high-power circuit, eliminating high-voltage backfeed damage to main control boards. Built-in self-power supply circuit draws energy directly from converter DC bus without external auxiliary power source, simplifying cabinet wiring layout. Multi-channel hardware fault detection logic triggers microsecond-level gate pulse blocking upon overcurrent, over-temperature, fiber loss, gate supply loss or DC overvoltage; fault status is transmitted back to main controller via reverse fiber for accurate fault location. Widely used in full range GE EX2100 generator static excitation converters, ABB ACS6000 medium voltage four-quadrant drives and wind farm grid-connected VSC converters. ABB discontinued new original production, refurbished and surplus GDU assemblies are standard spare parts for power plant maintenance and retrofit.
